Theresa Geyer with the Ormond Beach office has been a very busy lady!
On Friday, November 18, she and a few of her colleagues attended Margarita Society of Volusia County’s annual Margarita Ball, a black-tie affair held at The Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.
Next up, on Friday, December 2, Theresa was joined by Damen Stickford, Melody Travers, Melissa Moon, Dan Geyer, and Dawn Rose Wilson as they celebrated incoming leadership at the Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS®’s (DBAAR) 100th Installation and Awards Gala, held at the Hard Rock Daytona Beach.
Last (but not least) on the list, on Saturday, December 10, Theresa and her husband Dan hosted a holiday party at their home where they invited associates, their significant-others, and their administrative staff; all total 27 people attended.
On Friday, November 18, she and a few of her colleagues attended Margarita Society of Volusia County’s annual Margarita Ball, a black-tie affair held at The Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.
Over 65 people attended the event and according to Margarita’s Facebook page, they collected 3,567 toys, 125 of which were bikes, and 102 of which were gaming systems, tablets, and other high-end electronics. According to Geyer, “This event is one of our community’s most coveted and largest [events,] so to be a part of helping those in need with Christmas is very special this year…”
The Margarita Society began in 1983 as a non-profit organization which helped underprivileged children in Central Florida between the ages of 4 and 14. The society’s vision was to create a process in which friends could celebrate the holiday season while contributing towards a better Christmas for the children in their community. Their humble start began in Orlando with a menu of potato chips and dip and grew into one of the most successful events of its kind in the Southeast. In addition to Orlando and Daytona, they now have societies in Charlotte NC, Denver CO, Huntsville, AL, and Lakeland, FL.

During the past two decades, the Margarita Society, along with the generosity of its members, has donated over one hundred thousand gifts. Now, that’s impressive!
On social media they post weekly “Margarita Monday” quotes, spreading joy and positivity, one of which reads: “It’s easier to take than to give. It’s nobler to give than to take. The thrill of taking lasts a day. The thrill of giving lasts a lifetime.” [Joan Marques]. They ended the quote with the hashtags #MargaritaMonday #MargaritaBall2022
A great way to have fun while giving back – thanks, Ormond Beach!

DBAAR was established in 1922 and is a private trade association with over 2,100 REALTORS® and affiliates in the Daytona Beach area and is one of nearly 1,600 real estate boards that make up the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
The organization is governed by a board of volunteers with a goal to serve the interests of its members, the public, and the environment, and helps its members aim for excellence by offering continuing education opportunities.
The party was catered by Moe’s Southwest and they played games like Word Scramble, Bingo, and “Bad Santa,” a gift exchange with a twist: the “Santas” were to steal desirable gifts from each other as a form of hilarious competition.
Straight from Geyer’s Facebook page, she stated of her party: “Gratitude was in abundance with this group of awesome people and some we haven’t seen in such a long time… We all had such a great time and the laughing was uncontrollable at times. Thank you to all who participated – the gifts were awesome and appreciated.”
