Cinco de Mayo Brings Charitable Efforts to OP

This past May, Watson agents from the Westside and Orange Park offices held their annual Cinco de Mayo community event. With food trucks, a K-9 demo, and charitable donations, the event was a hit (again!).

“Holding this free public event since 2019 has given our agents the opportunity to give back to some worthy organizations,” said Broker Amanda Feagle.

The event was filled with festivities and community involvement all around. Camping World of Orange Park had three campers on display, and the clay County Sheriff’s Office came out to perform a K-9 demonstration that everybody enjoyed. In addition, there were 20 local vendors, Che’Lus Island BBQ food truck, a bouncy slide, craft table, and several local builders that attended the event.

Overall, the Watson offices collected over $350 in vendor fees to donate to two very worthy causes.

The General Roy S. Geiger Marine Corps. League #1047 received half of the raised funds to contribute to their mission to “promote the interest and preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines, FMF Navy Personnel who wear or have worn the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism,” according to their website.

Additionally, the non-profit organization Unstoppable You Ministries received half of the donations. According to their website, the organization provides participants and their families who are considered at-risk with the essential tools necessary to develop holistically (mind, body, and soul) and to re-enter society with an opportunity to obtain skills necessary to become self-sufficient adults.

Excellent job Watson, Orange Park and Westside offices!
