When the kids get ready for back to school, Watson Heathrow gets to work!
Over the summer, the Heathrow office held a donation drive to gather school supplies for Seminole County schools.
“Our Watson Realty Heathrow team recently had the privilege of delivering school supplies to the Seminole County School District with Tools 4 Seminole Schools, thanks to the generosity of our community and also our agents,” said Heathrow Managing Broker Julio Sevilla.
The partnering foundation Tools 4 Seminole Schools is an organization that collects and distributes school supplies and classroom materials to help alleviate the burden from teachers and low-income parents to provide school supplies for their classroom. According to their website, it’s a free store where teachers can shop for “everything from pencils, notebooks, crayons and glue to tissues, socks and underwear…”
For the 2022-2023 school year alone, the store distributed more than $2 million in product, and is mostly funded through grants, corporate giving, and doners. Local businesses, community organizations and individuals collect thousands of schools supplies to keep the shelves stocked all year long.
Heathrow agents and community members were the heroes here, donating pencils, glue, crayons, notebooks, backpacks, and more to contribute to the foundation.
“This event was made possible by the wonderful support from local residents who answered our call for donations. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this important cause,” said Sevilla.
