Beach Cleanup: Essential to Northeast Florida

The oceans that supply The River City’s waterways are the lifeblood of Jacksonville. Keeping them clean and safe for our city is the key to a thriving community.

The Watson Jacksonville Beach office knows this all too well. That’s why VP/Managing Broker Melanie Coles Lamb and administrative assistant, Danielle Sporn, spearheaded efforts to join the City of Jacksonville’s (COJ) Right Whale Beach Cleanup event.

According to the COJ.net website, this event is held annually to provide volunteers with an opportunity to help beautify the city's shoreline during the annual Right Whale Festival. This year the event took place November 2, from 8 – 10 a.m. at the Seawalk Pavilion.

Trash bags and gloves were provided for volunteers by COJ, and everyone collected bags full of loose trash, wrappers, and plastic waste.

“Keeping our beaches clean is just as rewarding as helping people find their dream home here by the beach,” said Lamb. “We cannot wait to do it again.”
