This October, the MelbourneWatson office was honored to be the presenting sponsor for the 12th Annual Viera Voice Scarecrow Stroll!
This much-anticipated event took place from October 3 to October 17, running daily from 10 AM to 4 PM. Throughout the event, local businesses and organizations showcase their creativity by crafting designer scarecrows displayed across Viera for the community to enjoy and cast their vote to crown the winners.
This year, the Melbourne office proudly presented their scarecrow "Hay Armstrong", a whimsical tribute to the adventurous spirit of living on the Space Coast. You can find Hay at Viera Del Mar Rehabilitation, located at 2355 Vidina Dr. in Viera. We encourage everyone to stop by, take a picture with Hay, and share it on social media using the hashtag #VieraVoice.
Voters have the opportunity to visit all the scarecrow sites on the map for a chance to win first and second prizes: four tickets to ICE! featuring ELF, Snow Flow Mountain and TwElf Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt for first place, and a ride-on Mercedes Toy Car for second. And if they visit at least 17 scarecrows, they also have a chance to win a $100 gift card to Ford's Garage.
Ballot boxes for voting are located at the Viera Voice office 7350 Shoppes Drive #102 in Viera, and at CDS Builders CDS Model in Aripeka, 1726 Gracewood Dr Melbourne.
The grand finale took place Saturday, October 19, during the Viera Harvest Festival at Woodside Park in Viera East from 10 AM to 2 PM. Visitors were encouraged to bring a canned food item for the Food Pantry Ministry at Advent Lutheran Church. Winners of the best-designed scarecrows were announced at 1:30 PM, with prizes including a $200 prize for the Scarecrow Stroll Popular Vote, a $300 prize for Best of Show, and additional $50 awards for categories like Most Whimsical, Best Use of Hay, and Best Name.
Other events included visits with Cupid and Ziti, the adorable miniature horses from Harmony Farms, a hay maze, and the Kids Mini-Crow Building Contest and Kids Costume Contest. Plus, attendees danced to the lively tunes of the Penny Creek Bluegrass Band.
What a hay-riffic celebration of community spirit and charitable giving, Watson Melbourne!
